Description: As Sound Transit prepared to enter a seven-year construction phase for the East Link Light Rail extension, PRR was tasked with creating a series of videos to help inform local businesses and residents of construction impacts. Acutely aware of how unpleasant and disruptive construction can be to local businesses, our goal was to create humorous videos that also accurately portrayed reality.
Our multimedia team explored the idea of a powerful wizard, Gandor the Great, working at Sound Transit. He's a wonderful co-worker, and brings his own unique flair to Sound Transit. Unfortunately, his use of magic to solve problems doesn't always work out as expected. Hence, the tongue-in-cheek tagline "It's not Magic, it's Construction" was born. Our team pitched the concept, yet our client didn't seem convinced. We asked for the opportunity to explore the concept a bit further, and I came on board to develop the storyboards.
Working with the multimedia team, I helped bring Gandor to life, sketching out the delightfully absurd scenes that brought their scripts to life. Ultimately, the storyboards convinced Sound Transit to approve of the concept, and PRR was able to begin plans for video production.
